Google not open to Ad Blockers

Ars Technica

According to a story at Android Police, a number of developers of Android apps which have the capability to block ads in web browsers have received notifications from Google that their apps have been kicked out of the Google Play store and are no longer available for download.

They are OPEN, to anything that doesn’t block ads.

Chrome for iOS updated.

What’s New in Version 25.0.1364.86

• Long press on the back button to quickly access any page in your tab history
• Share a web page via Messages

The sharing via messages is a very cool addition, I would still like to see a Reader-like ability and for Apple to allow me to change default apps.

Sun: A beautiful weather web app for iPhone and iPad.

Screen Shot 2013-02-26 at 10.11.29 AM

Mactories posted an article about Sun, a beautiful and simple weather web app for iPhone and iPad. Its free, and all you have to do is go to the page using Safari on your iPhone or iPad and add it to your home screen. Once installed, it will of course ask to know your location and that place will be the default. You can add three more cities, choose from Fahrenheit or Celsius, miles per hour, kilometres per hour, or meters per second, as well as color palette. If you swipe to the side, it will change cities, if you pinch the screen you can see info for all four cities at once. If you tap on a location, it will show a chart with projected temperatures and a ten-day forecast. Also, the icon will tell you the temperature of your current location. Really cool web app created by Jakob Henner.

Youtube Capture for iOS

You can capture, edit, and share to Youtube, Facebook, Twitter, or Google Plus, right from the app. Weirdly enough, it’s iOS only at the moment. You know, because like Eric Schmidt says, Android is WINNING and it’s just a matter of time before developers go Android first. Apparently he forgot to tell his employees that.
