iPhone Outselling All Other Smartphones Combined at Sprint and AT&T

All Things D:

Our March checks indicated the iPhone continues to extend its market share gains,” Canaccord Genuity analyst Mike Walkley writes in a note to clients today. “In fact, we believe iPhones are outselling all other smartphones combined at Sprint and AT&T and selling at roughly equal volume to all Android smartphones at Verizon.

Thank goodness it was only a mediocre refresh of the iPhone 4. One phone, on three models, against a bunch of Samsung, HTC, LG, Motorola, etc. That is a big feat to accomplish.

T-Mobile: Our LTE Network will be compatible with the iPhone.

From their blog:

Will refarming make your network compatible with the iPhone?  And will you stop offering 2G services?
A nice side benefit of the refarming effort is that our 4G network will be compatible with a broader range of devices, including the iPhone. The other important benefit of our network modernization effort is the coverage improvements it will deliver, especially when it comes to in-home coverage.

So, the girl with the fuchsia polka dot dress can stop making fun of the iPhone now? For a phone that is such a headache for carriers and none of them want it, it sure looks like they want it.

The carrier announced that it sold 4.3 million iPhones during the final quarter of 2011. This figure accounts for more than half the 7.7 million smartphones the carrier sold and more than doubles the 1.6 million LTE smartphones the carrier sold in the last three months of the year. It’s also 2 million more than the 2.3 million 4G LTE devices the carrier sold (1.6 M smartphones and 700,000 LTE devices), which is impressive when you consider that it’s the iPhone 4 and 4S versus the 20 LTE devices in Verizon’s lineup.
