Good decision.
Amazon to allow ads opt-out on Kindle Fire HD for $15 upcharge
The race to the bottom on the tablet space has officially begun. The Verge reports that the Barns & Noble Nook Tablet, will have an 8GB model for less that the $199.00 of the Kindle Fire.
If it is indeed cheaper (and it’s almost certain it will be), and has double the storage capacity of the Kindle, it is an interesting choice. Of course, the Kindle comes with all Amazon has to offer in terms of purchasing and content. The race has begun indeed.
Update: It’s official, $199 for 8GB model:
Ok, so yes, for the price of an iPad you can buy two Kindle Fires and one Kindle Reader. Also, for the price of a BMW I can buy two or three Corollas. It makes for a funny and catchy ad, but it’s a stupid comparison. The iPad costs more because in reality it does more, and has more capabilities. The Kindle is smaller, has less memory (storage), and has no cameras (not that the iPad two cameras are that good, but they’re there). Also, I don’t think it’s such a cool idea to give a Kindle Fire with my credit card information and one click purchase to my kid.
Algunos que han comprado el Kindle Fire se quejan del botón de apagar y prender, de cuan privado es el browser, y otras cosas. Conan O’Brien en su programa hizo una parodia de esto, les dejo el video:

Other than being in a crappy plasticky box, having a slower browser, only about six hours of battery life, a small number of apps (compared to Android Market and Apple’s App Store), only 8GB of storage with no expandability, no 3G option, it’s a nice tablet.
There, I summarized Mossberg’s review for you.

Wow. Runaway Hit, Apple must be really scared with this iPad Killer.
Buried under the massive Kindle news is something arguably more important: Microsoft just got Samsung to pay them to use Android.
This means that two of the major Android OEMs (Samsung and HTC) now pay Microsoft to use the “free” Android OS. The third (Motorola) was just bought by Google.
Think about that for a second.
